Letter of appreciationDear Year 6 Students and Teaching Staff of Gilson College,
Thank you Gilson College staff and students for a wonderful afternoon at your College. Our residents were once again ‘wowed’, they were eager to check back in with their student, visit the College Community and with great expectations were keen to view the finished biographies prepared by the Year 6 students. Each resident returned from the afternoon with great enthusiasm of what they had seen, heard, intuitively sensed about the College Community, they were most impressed, and look forward to sharing their visit with others in our Village. Congratulations must go to teachers, principals, students and families belonging to Gilson College Community. Thank-you for the DVD, we may burn a copy for each participating resident so they have their own story. Thank-you also for the creative birthday cards and bookmarks made by your students, these are being passed on at the beginning of each month to the Birthday Boys and Girls. Thank you for hosting our Village residents today at Gilson College. We look forward to the next exchanges of communication in the form of Arts & Craft and Reading. Janine will be in touch soon to make these arrangements. Best Regards Graham Cook |
Watching the relationships grow between our students and the senior's from Taylor's Hill retirement village is truly remarkable. The connections and relationships being established have been of great benefit to our students and support their development and young people. We have so much to learn from each other is the consistent words I hear expressed by residents and students. As other classes and staff observe the interactions students are making, we marvel at the great respect and honour that our students display to our Seniors Connect group. We wish to continue to grow these valuable connections between our students and those in our community throughout the year and into the future. Raelene Delvin (Head of Primary)
